Welcome to Apini! Our full name is 'Apini Outfitters Limited' (and we are referred to as "we", "us", "our", or “Apini” in this policy). Apini is committed to protecting the privacy of its users, For the purposes of data protection law applicable in the United Kingdom ("UK") and the European Economic Area ("EEA") (the "Data Protection Law"), the controller is Apini.


Please read our Terms and this Privacy Policy carefully before using any of our website (https://apini.com) (the “Site”), or purchasing clothing from us. We talk about our Site and our retail services together as the “Apini Service”.


In this Privacy Policy, we explain how we collect and treat your personal information, and what your rights are. Your use of Apini's Service is governed by the Terms.

    • Face-to-face conversations you have with us

  • Financial: payment and billing details, including postal code and transaction history (required to agree to our Terms).

  • Marketing: you may also provide us with your personal direct marketing preferences, like whether you would like to receive email or text updates from us.

You must keep your personal information up to date – please tell us promptly about any changes, for example if you have a new address.


1.2 Information we receive from other sources.

We may work with third parties to help improve our Apini Service. We will tell you in this Policy if we receive information about you from them, and how we intend to use that information.

We may receive information about from other organisations, including:

  • Advertising: Advertisers may share technical information and information about your visits with them, including your experiences or interactions with them (see the next section for more detail about what this means).

  • Information we collect about you from your use of our Apini Service:

Technical information may include the Internet Protocol (IP) address, login information, browser type and version and, browser plug-in types and versions, device settings (e.g. language, time zone), device or similar IDs, operating system and platform, hardware version, mobile operator or ISP.

Information about your visit may include the start and end and the extent of your usage of the Site and your preferences, the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from our site (including date and time), products you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from the page, and any phone number used to call our customer service number or social media handle used to connect with our customer service team and our social media accounts.

Location data includes specific geographic locations (such as through GPS, Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi signals) which we use to provide location services (if you ask or permit us to), so that we can deliver content, advertising or other services that are dependent on knowing where you are, like e.g. checking for fraudulent transactions.

Location data may be collected in combination with device ID, so we can recognise your mobile browser or device when you return to the Service.

2. How do we use your personal information?

Apini uses your personal information in the following ways (and for the legal reasons (or 'lawful bases') described below). For more information about what these legal reasons mean, please read the next section: 'Legal reasons explained'.

2.4. If we personalise content for you using the Apini Service, we use your Account information to:

  • provide you with personalised clothing recommendations to improve you Apini Service experience (based on your viewing and purchasing history).

We do this to take any steps to enter into any contract, or carry out our obligations under any contract, between you and us (including our Terms). We also do this in our legitimate interests

2.5. If we share marketing or advertising with you (with your consent, or if you have not opted-out when you make a purchase from us), we may use your Account, Marketing, Advertising and Automatically Collected information to:

  • provide you with promotional update communications by email, SMS, in-App alerts, push notifications, and phone about our services about goods or services we feel may interest you.

  • contact you for your opinions about the Apini Service, including through surveys and other market research.

  • understand how you use and interact with our services and the things you're connected to and interested in, both on the Apini Service and across our social media profiles, and to undertake marketing analysis.

  • provide you with personalised recommendations, promotional updates and marketing to improve your experience with the Apini Service (based on, for example what we know about what our UK customers like, or your own past orders).

  • measure or understand your interest in and the effectiveness of advertising we serve to you and others, and to deliver relevant advertising to you.

We do this if permitted in our legitimate interests (where we have considered these are not overridden by your rights, including your right to object to such communications) or with your prior consent (where required by law).

You can opt-out of further marketing at any time by selecting the “unsubscribe” link at the end of all our promotional updates and marketing to you, by sending us an email at contact@apini.com with “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the Subject line (or, if applicable, by changing your marketing preferences in your account).

2.6. When we maintain and improve the Apini Service, we may use your Account, Marketing, Advertising and Automatically Collected information (including Location data) to:

  • administer the Apini Service and services and for internal operations, including audits, troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes.

  • track how and how frequently each User interacts with the Apini Service, and Users’ behavioural patterns.

  • evaluate and improve our products, services and Apini Service, including conducting market research, project planning, business and operational development, and developing and testing new features.

  • keep the Apini Service safe and secure.

  • detect and protect against error, fraud or other criminal activity.

  • improve the Apini Service to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer, and to alert you to any hardware or software incompatibility issues.

  • allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so.

2.7. Aggregated Data

We may pseudonymise and/or anonymise and aggregate any of the above categories of information, including for marketing and reporting purposes.

What does this mean?

  • Pseudonymised means that you cannot be identified from the data unless it's combined with additional information hold.

  • Anonymised means that you cannot be identified from the data – for example, if we create aggregated statistics.

Once aggregated, no information will be personally identifiable and linked to any particular User. We use aggregated information (such as statistical data or customer profile information) to help us analyse how visitors use our site (including behaviour patterns and the tracking of visits across multiple devices), provide more useful information to our customers, and understand which of our services are of most interest.

In accordance with applicable Data Protection Law, we rely on one or more of the following grounds when processing your data:

  • Legal Obligation: We may need to process your personal information to comply with our legal obligations, including under applicable local, UK and EU/EEA law, and/or any court orders. This may include compliance with know-your-client and anti-money laundering rules.

3. Public forums & social media

Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose on public portions of the Apini Service (such as public customer feedback and reviews) may become publicly available and collected and used by others.

4. What about payments to Apini?

4.1. We use third party payment processors to enable you to make payments to us.

4.2. Payments made on the Apini Service are made through our payment gateway provider, Shopify Payments and PayPal. You will be providing credit or debit card information directly to [insert your payment provider] which operates a secure server to process payment details, encrypting your credit/debit card information and authorising payment. 5. Who do we share your personal information with?

We use a number of third party service providers which may support your use of the Apini Service. We may share your personal information:

(a) with any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, who support our processing of personal data under this Notice. If any of these parties are using your information for direct marketing purposes, we will only transfer the information to them for that purpose with your prior consent.

(b) with selected third parties and external service providers, including television and media providers, we work with.

Our selected third parties may include:

(i) Merchants and business partners who provide services to you, like shipping and delivery, and with whom we have entered into agreements in relation to the processing of your personal data, a list of whom can be provided upon request.

(ii) Organisations who process your personal data on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions and the Data Protection Law. This includes in supporting the services we offer through the Apini Service, in particular those providing website and data hosting services, distributing any communications we send, supporting or updating mailing and marketing lists, facilitating feedback on our services, debt collection services, and providing IT support services from time to time. These organisations (which may include third party suppliers, agents, sub-contractors and/or other companies in our group) will only use your information to the extent necessary to perform their support functions.

(iii) Advertisers and advertising networks that require the data to select and serve relevant adverts to you and others. We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we will provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, we may inform them that 500 women aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target. We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers' wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience and subject to the cookie section of this Notice.

(iv) Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our site and subject to the cookie section of this Notice (this will not identify you as an individual).

(v) Payment processing providers who provide secure payment processing services.

6. Where do we store your personal information?
We are based in the UK. We may transfer your personal information to the UK, or to one or more countries outside the UK and the European Economic Area ("EEA"), where we (or other companies within the Company group) or our service providers maintain operations. The servers used to process your personal information collected from this website are in the US and globally, however we collect data from wherever users are situated. The information that we collect may therefore be transferred to the UK from any other country in which you may be located.

8. How long do we keep your personal information?
